1 – Tell us a bit about yourself
Hello, I’m Annalisa, Annina to friends, or “miss8000.” I am an emergency physician and work in the Emergency Room: an intense world where clarity, energy, and heart are essential. Outside the hospital, I breathe Nature at 360°: for the past year I have also been a beekeeper and a “new farmer,” with my hands in the soil and my head full of new projects. My passion for the mountains was passed on to me by my grandmother when I was a child. After years spent chasing altitude and great faces, today I dedicate myself to exploration and adventure projects in Nature, searching for something rare and precious: a bit of true solitude, far from the noise of the world.

2 – What is your favorite outdoor activity?
For many years I experienced high altitude in a total way: I reached 8,450 m without oxygen on Kangchenjunga, I was the first woman in the world to cross the Deosai Plateau in winter with skis and pulka in complete autonomy, I took part in high-altitude rescues in the “death zone,” and I managed the maxi-emergency at Everest-Lhotse Base Camp during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. And yet, what remains most in my heart are the humanitarian missions at the edges of the world, among the poorest people: that’s where you truly understand what matters. Mixed climbing remains my favorite activity because it is essential, technical, bare truth—but caring for people in remote villages is what ignites me the most, because it is adventure and humanity together. And in both cases, when you are out for a long time, comfort becomes a necessity: staying warm and protected means having the energy and clarity to do well what you need to do.

3 – What is your favorite place to explore?
The human mind. And my limits. Because the truest expeditions are not only geographical: they are the ones that force you to know yourself, to strip away the superfluous, and to understand how far you can go… and who you want to be while you’re going there.

4 – Why did you decide to become a RedElk Ambassador?
I chose RedElk on the suggestion of two dear friends. Before, I was an ambassador for a brand considered important, but I felt like “a number”: many garments, beautiful, yes, but no real interest in what I was doing. I needed something different: a real relationship, and the possibility of bringing my sponsors into my journeys, even just “with a V,” virtually, to let them experience what I experience. With RedElk I found a team that listens, that believes in people, and that never loses sight of the most important thing: creating products that truly accompany you, with comfort and reliability, when you are far from everything.

5 – In what way do you feel close to the RedElk philosophy?
RedElk is a growing company, built by passionate people who believe in their work and love Nature. And that, for me, means a lot: putting your face and your name behind what you do. The “Plunge into Nature” philosophy feels like mine: immersing yourself in nature is not an abstract idea, it’s a way of being in the world. And when you truly live the outdoors, you understand that comfort and protection are not details: they are what allow you to be present, clear-minded, free, and to truly enjoy every step.

6 – What is your favorite RedElk item?
GRIGNA: I love it! Because when conditions become harsh, it makes me feel protected and at ease. For me, comfort is this: not having to think about it, because you know you’re warm and you can focus on what truly matters.

7 – Would you like to share a special memory related to RedElk apparel?
I was in Nepal, between a medical camp and the construction of a school. Clinging to the cardamom terraces, in the evening we would eat quickly and then all retreat to our small tents to escape the cold. My jacket was the only truly heavy garment: outside it was completely dark. Then, slowly, the stars began to light up everywhere, one after another, until I found myself surrounded by beauty. Somewhere, the whispers of locals returning to their huts. I stopped, looked at the sky, wrapped myself tighter in my jacket, and smiled, happy to be part of so much wonder. In certain moments you understand that comfort is not only “staying warm”: it is being able to remain there, present, living that miracle to the fullest.

8 – What advice would you give to someone who wants to approach an outdoor sport?
You need true passion. You need to work hard. And you need a goal that your heart truly desires. The rest is built: experience, technique, endurance. But without that fire inside, you won’t go far. And above all: always dream big—then the mountain will teach you how to turn that dream into one step at a time.

9 – What is your next challenge?
I don’t know yet… but I’m working on it. And maybe that’s the beauty of it: leaving space for exploration, listening to the call of Nature, and preparing for when the right idea arrives—the one that makes you say, “okay, let’s go.”

10 – Do you have a phrase or motto that inspires you?
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
Marcel Proust
Because in the end, it’s not the places that make the difference. It’s the way you look at them as you pass through.
