RedElk’s path toward sustainability
We share our commitment to becoming an increasingly sustainable company and brand,
also through creative solutions!
Sustainability—everyone talks about it...
Talking about sustainability isn’t simple. It’s a broad topic, made up of many aspects that affect every part of a company.
Too often, we hear about it used carelessly, with unkept promises and empty words.
And yes, we know: changing habits or introducing new ideas takes effort.
But the entire RedElk team has always believed in it.
Our size has allowed us to remain authentic and consistent, long before “green” became a trend.
We’re not here to impress you with slogans or textbook strategies. We simply want to share, transparently, the path we’re following to become more sustainable every day. One step at a time, with enthusiasm and a practical approach.
Environmental responsibility and a green philosophy are values we truly believe in and actively pursue.
Now let us explain why.
This Is How We Do It
RedElk is an outdoor brand, and because we experience nature every day, respecting it always comes first—even in the smallest actions.
Working on our collections is at the heart of this change. Over the years, we’ve introduced significant improvements and are already developing new ones to reduce the environmental impact of our production, investing a great deal of time in researching more sustainable materials and technologies, while maintaining the same high quality of our garments.
And that’s not all: we’ve chosen to support concrete environmental protection projects, becoming members of a non-profit association dedicated to the conservation of natural ecosystems, to actively contribute to protecting the environments we love to explore every day.
Ready to discover what we’re really doing?
We’ll tell you below!

PADDING
There was a time when goose down was used as the main insulation, without much thought about how the animals it came from were raised. RedElk, always sensitive to this issue, has worked from the beginning with certified goose down suppliers, ensuring an ethical and high-quality product through responsible sourcing. Today, whenever possible, we avoid using this type of insulation across the entire RedElk collection, favoring instead synthetic padding such as DUPONT SUSTANS and THINSULATE J80. DUPONT SUSTANS® thermal padding is a fiber derived from renewable sources and produced with strong environmental care. It offers exceptional softness and high insulation performance. 3M™ Thinsulate™ Premium Insulation is a special synthetic padding that provides warmth and excellent thermal performance, along with features such as odor control, water resistance, and breathability—making it ideal for sports activities. Today, certified goose down is used only in one RedElk product: the HOPI and TEWA jackets from the PULL&WEAR line. We use goose down exclusively in this product due to its ability to compress and expand, maintaining excellent insulation once worn after being packed.

FINISHING
Not only materials, but also alternatives to traditional finishing processes help improve both environmental impact and fabric performance. This vision led us to an optimal solution. Used on all RedElk jackets, BIONIC-FINISH® ECO is a finishing treatment that makes fabrics highly water-repellent while ensuring resistance to abrasion, wear, and washing. This innovative and sustainable process guarantees high quality standards, comfort, and performance benefits, with no fluorinated compounds or formaldehyde, in compliance with environmental protection requirements during production, use, and disposal.

PACKAGING
Our commitment is constant, and we’ve also implemented a new solution for packaging, reducing plastic bag usage by 100%. Every RedElk garment is delivered in a bag made from 100% recycled and recyclable material. At the start of each season, we remind our retailers of the importance of continuing to use this packaging even after the product is sold: offering it to the final customer helps communicate our commitment and provides a useful item that can be reused in many ways.

EOCA – EUROPEAN OUTDOOR CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION
Since October 2019, RedElk has been an official member of EOCA, the European Outdoor Conservation Association, a non-profit organization that supports projects aimed at protecting the environment worldwide. Through guidelines and best practices on how to make business activities more sustainable, EOCA helps its member companies improve along their green journey. In recent trade shows, RedElk has also committed to designing its exhibition spaces to eliminate any use of plastic, aiming to be completely “plastic free.”
