Since October 2019, Redelk has been an official partner of EOCA, the European Conservation Association, a European non-profit organization that supports projects aimed at protecting the environment worldwide. Redelk, an Italian company that produces and sells outdoor clothing, is actively working to be recognized as a green model.
"We decided to start our green journey because it is right to preserve the planet; we outdoor sports enthusiasts want to commit to maintaining an eco-sustainable approach, choosing to pollute less also through the selection of organic materials."
says Luca Colombo, COO of Stecol Flex, the Milan-based company behind the outdoor brand.
"The outdoor sector and the millions of people who love nature must take the lead in preserving it and maintaining an approach that limits waste."
Already in the new SS2020 collection, new garments made of cotton were introduced, with a decreasing use of synthetic materials, while maintaining the high quality of Redelk products. Moreover, for the FW2021 collection, the garments will feature an eco-friendly finishing, meaning no polluting substances are used, only natural ones: the water-repellent component is based on a fluorine-free formula that still maintains water repellency, breathability, wash resistance, and weather resistance properties.
"We are also trying to change the product packaging: we want to find an eco-sustainable solution that can also be reused by customers in different ways. We know that the path to becoming a 100% eco-sustainable company is still long, but we have definitely started on the right foot, inspired by those who have already paved this important trend and contributed to creating a more environmentally responsible business model."
concludes Luca Colombo.
Last but not least, on the occasion of ISPO 2020, Redelk signed a commitment with EOCA to create a plastic-free exhibition space, meaning without the use of plastic in any aspect. This is a further concrete sign towards a more sustainable future.
