1 – Can you tell us about your project?
Rifugi d’Italia was born from a simple yet ambitious idea: to tell the story of and enhance every mountain hut in our country, from the most famous to the most hidden. We want to give a voice to those who work at altitude and welcome hikers and mountaineers every day, turning often remote places into hubs of meeting, culture, and sharing. The project is also an invitation to set off, to discover lesser-known areas, and to experience the mountains with a more conscious and respectful взгляд.

2 – What is your main mission?
Our mission is to spread mountain culture through its symbolic places: mountain huts. We want to guide people in discovering new territories, introduce facilities off the most beaten paths, and promote a slower, more authentic, and environmentally respectful approach. Telling the story of mountain huts means telling a way of living the mountains made of hospitality, relationships, and small gestures of care toward these places.

3 – How did you get to know RedElk and what led you to collaborate?
The collaboration with RedElk was born naturally, because we share the same vision: to grow together while supporting and enhancing those who live and work in the mountains. We found a partner with whom we can talk openly and build a shared path made of ideas and common goals.

4 – How helpful is RedElk to your project and in what ways does it support your activities?
RedElk’s support, which has accompanied us for several years now, is valuable in many ways. It allows us to work side by side with hut keepers, listen to their real needs, and reflect together on garments designed for those who live and work at altitude every day. It is concrete support that goes beyond a simple partnership and becomes active collaboration.

5 – Which values do you feel you share with RedElk?
We share deep values such as reducing environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable and respectful approach toward nature and people. We believe the mountains are a place to be experienced with responsibility, awareness, and attention to others.

6 – How important is comfort for you and for the people who take part in your initiatives?
Comfort matters, but for us it goes hand in hand with another fundamental aspect: the ability to share a common space in a mountain hut. At altitude, you can give up a few comforts, but not mutual respect and a sense of community. Comfort thus becomes a balance between functionality, practicality, and the human value of the experience.

7 – What value does the familiar and genuine approach that RedElk maintains with its partners have for you?
For us, it is a fundamental element. Having someone who listens, welcomes ideas, and turns them into concrete projects truly makes the difference. RedElk’s familiar and genuine approach creates fertile ground for strong, long-lasting collaborations.

8 – A special episode experienced with RedElk?
One of the moments we remember most fondly is the days spent comparing notes on the new collections: authentic conversations where every detail comes from a shared idea. Even choosing the names of the garments together was a small milestone that reflects the harmony built over time.

9 – What is the most meaningful impact of the project?
The most beautiful impact is seeing people discover new routes, fall in love with unknown mountain huts, and change the way they experience the mountains. Many tell us about friendships born during our initiatives—some even about new couples formed thanks to the events: it’s proof that mountain huts can bring people together and create community.

10 – What are your future projects?
We want to continue working closely with hut keepers, developing activities that concretely support them in daily management and communication. At the same time, we aim to spread—online and offline—rules of good conduct in the mountains more and more, because knowing and respecting these places is the first step to truly loving them.
